Are you the owner of a business that creates ‘complicated’ products? Perhaps you work for a high-tech company that produces innovative products that are new to the market? Maybe you aren’t sure which offline and online marketing techniques you should adopt to successfully promote your products?

Read on for part 1 of our top online marketing techniques that can be used to promote even the most complex products:

Educate your Audience

First things first are to educate your audience. Establish your exact target market and provide them with the information and materials they need to fully understand your product. Be inspiring in your approach, using infographics, videos and easy-to-read articles that effectively explain why your product is so amazing and why your audience needs it.

Never patronise your readers, but at the same time avoid making assumptions about their current level of understanding: use figures, images and graphs to keep readers interested. Set up a business blog that provides useful information about your products. Make sure you link your blog to social media pages. As you build up a following you will come to be regarded as an expert in your industry – an industry that is not yet familiar to many people.

Incorporate Humour

Use humour to entice your audience in further. Since the advent of social media, online marketing techniques have changed dramatically, and today humour is a commonly used and accepted part of any marketing strategy. Be cautious when it comes to humour, however. Do not use tasteless humour as this will deter your readers.

Back Up your Claims

As with any new product, it’s essential to back up your research with statistics and facts. Stats and facts add instant credibility to your marketing materials, igniting confidence in you, your product and your audience.

Repeat After Me

If your product is unfamiliar or not very well known, make your target audience hear about it as often as possible. This will create a feeling of familiarity that will spark reader interest and make them want to learn more.

Online marketing techniques have the ability to appear frequently, so it’s easy to become a regular part of your audiences’ lives. For instance, by posting content regularly on social media platforms and reposting popular content, you can ensure that your readers never miss out on important information.
