Instagram has just released a range of updates to its platform, from a new logo and colour scheme to updated business tools.

New Logo

Although the jury is still out on the new Instagram logo, it was redesigned to demonstrate how the app has evolved since it was first launched. The aim was to develop a sleeker, simpler logo for the app that maintained the image of the camera to demonstrate that pictures remain the centre of attention for Instagram.

Updated Colour Scheme

In addition to a brand new logo, the company has also implemented a new colour scheme. The interface remains the same, however the background has changed from the blue and black border to a black and white one, in order to give more emphasis to the images and provide a place for the eyes to rest.

Promoted Posts

Up until recently, Instagram has not used promoted posts, however the platform has decided to create an ad space that resembles Facebook’s ad set up. Posts can be turned into ads (much like Facebook’s paid posts) to help you to gain more views and boost engagement levels on your profile.

Analytics

In addition to promoting your posts, you can also track their success using Instagram’s updated analytics section. This free of charge feature gives your brand the chance to keep track of who’s viewing your posts and also helps you to target your business’ primary target market. Sounds fantastic to us!
