One of the easiest ways to ensure that your social media pages are interesting and engaging is to share relevant posts that focus on the latest goings on, stories and trending holidays. For instance, during the Wimbledon Games back in the summer, we wrote a piece about marketing lessons we can learn from Roger Federer, while as the popular Game of Thrones and Mad Men series’ came to an end, we created posts telling readers what both series’ can teach us about content marketing.

We understand how important it is to remain current and for this reason we are continually crafting posts designed to inspire and educate whilst remaining up-to-date with the latest goings on.

At this festive time of year it has never been easier to appeal to your followers with holiday-inspired posts. So many people are talking about Christmas so it’s easy to plan ahead and create content that will interest, inspire and amplify your marketing success at this special time of year.

Listed below are our top hints and tips designed to help you create successful holiday-inspired posts…

Decorate your photos

Many brands around this time of year decorate their social media pages by incorporating an element of the holiday season into their profile pictures and cover photos. For instance, you may wish to add a snowman, some snowflakes, a Christmas bauble or a Christmas stocking to your company logo and upload the image onto your social media pages. This image can of course be included on your website as well as within any email marketing campaigns sent out.

When the image gets uploaded onto your social media pages your followers will receive an alert in their newsfeeds. This is a great way to keep your brand fresh in the minds of your followers and remind them about your business at this time of year.

Include everyone

Although Christmas is an exciting time of year for many, don’t forget that not everybody celebrates it. Some people simply take a break at this time of year in line with other businesses, but that doesn’t mean to say that they actively celebrate this particular holiday.

As such, be sure to exercise caution and control. Exactly how much you choose to focus on one particular holiday is up to you and dependent on your specific clientele. If you target a broad international market from a range of cultures and backgrounds, be mindful and stick to generic celebratory images such as snowflakes, snowmen, festive food and families coming together.
