When you post content to Facebook, that content needs to connect with your audience in the most genuine, honest and open way possible. Here’s how!

Creating your Facebook Post

The Basics

It’s easy to create a post for your page. Simply type your message into the available box, add a photo or video, and then you can either publish it immediately or schedule it for a later date and time (this is great for when you want to plan posts for holidays or events).

Targeting the Right Audience

Another great feature of Facebook posting is that you can target posts by narrowing the audience based on factors such as  gender, age or even location and language. You can also use the location icon to add your location to a post (great for when you are at an event or away from your place of business). Then, you can target people from a specific location, (including country and city or town). Finally, add the preferred language you wish to target. Then, click Post.

Giving Posts the Attention they Deserve

Once the article has been published, it will be visible from the top of your Facebook page, in your users’ newsfeed or in a search. If you want a particular post to remain visible for longer, simply click on the arrow in the top-right hand corner of your post, and pin it to the top of your page. This will then be the first post that people see when they click on your page, which is great if you have a special offer or event coming up.

Keep it Short and Sweet

To create the most effective Facebook posts possible, you need to keep your writing short and sweet, as people don’t like to be inundated with huge amounts of text. Also, avoid using too many hashtags, as these are less common on Facebook and not as openly welcomed.

Focus on Captivating Imagery

Also, use engaging, captivating images and videos as this is the best way to stand out from the crowd on someone’s newsfeed, enhancing the chances of people liking, commenting on a sharing your content. This also encourages people to click on the image, which will lead them straight to your website.

Engage

When people comment on your post, it is recommended to respond to them where possible. Use Facebook Insights

Finally, post more of what your customers want by using Page Insights to discover how your customers have responded to previous posts. This will show you what’s popular and what’s less so, thus guiding you towards more of what they enjoy.
