Content marketing is a challenging yet highly creative area. It requires you to write consistently high-quality content about innovative, interesting subjects that have hardly been touched upon by the competition.

It’s natural to get into a writing slump every now and then, particularly if you are writing fresh content daily. In part I of our 2-part series, we aim to help you overcome those obstacles and make the entire content marketing process much more seamless.

Listed below are 5 content marketing ideas that you can use when you’ve run out of inspiration:

1.       Conduct an Interview

This is a great way to produce high-quality content. Think of some unique, interesting questions and approach an expert in the field. Ask your interviewee to respond as honestly as possible; this will make a fantastic and interesting post, straight from the horse’s mouth.

2.       Be Inspired

The best place to get inspiration is from other blogs. Save 10 of your favourite blog posts and use them as a source of inspiration when the going gets tough. You can also put your own spin on an already-written article. For example, if someone wrote a post in a negative light, shed light on the positives.

3.       Invite a Guest Poster

Contact smaller blogs that could do with the publicity, inviting them to guest post on your blog. You can either give them guidance on what to write about or give them free reign. Either way, ensure that you proofread the content before publishing it; after all, it’s essential that you publish only the highest quality content.

4.       Carry out a Brainstorming Session

This is a superb way to get new inspiration, as gathering people together will give you an amalgamation of ideas. Ask your friends, colleagues, other bloggers and online peers for tips or ideas. You’ll be surprised at the feedback (and fresh content ideas) you get!

5.       Ask your Followers

Ask your followers what type of content they would like to read about. This is fantastic for brand awareness as your readers will really feel valued and appreciated and of course, it is a great way to get new inspiration for content marketing.
