2. How successful were their previous campaigns?

The next thing you need to establish is how successful (or unsuccessful) previous campaigns have been. There’s no point in registering with an agency if they do not have a proven track record of success. They should be able to provide you with some examples of previous successful projects.

3. Can I get in touch throughout the campaign?

Your agency needs to provide reliable customer support at any stage of the campaign. Should you have any questions or concerns, you need to have a direct line of contact who you can speak with at any time to discuss your strategy or campaign. If your point of contact is difficult to reach before the project begins, consider alternative options.

4. How are results measured?

During the course of the project, how will your selected agency demonstrate to you that what they are doing is actually working? What measurable metrics will they present to you to demonstrate their success?

5. What kind of reporting is provided, and how often?

The next question you need to ask is with regards to the kind of reporting provided. How often will they provide you with reports? What kind of information will be provided within the reports?

At a minimum, you should be provided with feedback on a monthly basis. That report should focus on rankings, traffic and conversions and should detail to you what they agency have been doing over the past month to improve your results and what future steps they will continue to take to improve your site’s results.

6. When can I expect to see tangible results?

Finally, you want to establish with your selected SEO agency when you can expect to see tangible results. It takes some time to generate search engine optimisation results, so if an agency promises you top results within their first week, consider it as a scam. A more realistic expectation is a timeframe of between two and three months.
