With Christmas just around the corner, businesses around the globe are scrambling to finish important projects and tie loose ends in preparation for the New Year. This is typically a very busy time of year for small and large businesses alike as countless cultures and nations celebrate the holiday season, so many of those businesses will be closing their doors for a break over the Christmas period.

Showing thanks to your clients is very important at this time of year and there are countless creative ways that you can do this.

Listed below are 8 ways to thank your clients for their loyalty, trust and business this past year:

1. Send a card

This is an obvious one but in today’s technologically advanced society, it’s very rare for businesses to send out handwritten cards. Though it’s tempting to send out an email to your clients, a handwritten greeting card is far more personalised one and shows your clients that they are valued and important. You may still wish to send out an email, particularly emphasising your opening hours over the Christmas period, but spend a little extra time crafting a handwritten note. It’s definitely worth it!

2. Help your customers to learn something new

Christmas is a time for giving, so why not show your customers how much you appreciate them by helping them to learn something new? For instance, if you own a bakery why not host a cake-decorating afternoon? Or if you own a fast food establishment you could give out samples to passers-by? If you run an online business why not create a free e-book, webinar or coaching service about your products or services? There are plenty of ways to thank your customers this Christmas.

3. Send thoughtful gifts

One of the easiest ways to thank your customers is with a thoughtful, meaningful gift. Books that have been meaningful and valuable to your company (such as How-To’s or self-help books) are a great gesture and provide insight into the culture of your company. Include a personalised message inside the book for an extra special touch.

4. Spend quality time with your clients

Spending time with your clients is a great way to show your appreciation to them. Time is a valuable asset so instead of buying them a gift, why not take them out for dinner or schedule a lunch at their offices. This will enable you to spend quality time with them where you can learn more about their pain points and improve your products or services. This is a fantastic way to boost customer loyalty as it really cements the relationship between you and your client.
