In part 2 of this guide we bring you a further 3 tricks to create the most compelling, successful tweets that will definitely generate more likes, comments, reposts and clicks!

1. Use Emotion

Using emotion within your tweets is a sure-fire way to get them noticed. You can use emotions such as surprise, positivity and curiosity to make your tweets successful.

Surprise: Stimulate your followers with a tweet that asks a question, asks for an opinion, asks for feedback or addresses a current burning issue. Using one of these tactics is a fantastic way to engage with your audience and drive traffic directly to your website.

Positivity: Good news travels fast so why not share some with your followers. Whether you’ve just sealed a new deal, hired a new employee, won an award or expanded operations, don’t be afraid to share the good news with your audience. This all reflects positively on your brand and demonstrates that you are a thriving, evolving, successful business.

Curiosity: Using curiosity within your tweets has been proven to enhance engagement levels significantly. Brands such as Buzzfeed and Upworthy take full advantage of the curiosity gap to entice audiences into clicking on the links they tweet.

2. Know that Timing is Everything

Every social media platform is different, which means that each one has its own unique optimal times for posting. It’s also important to note that every business has its own audience personas, audience size, type of content, time zone and so on.

Experiment with different publishing times to establish what works best for you. You also need to focus on what it is that you are trying to achieve: more likes? More retweets? A higher click count? From here, you can post your tweets at different times to see what results in the highest engagement levels.

Also, note that reposting old content on Twitter is a positive move that enables you to reach out to new followers, reach people from different time zones and generate more traffic to your website.

3. Don’t Ignore Hashtags

Finally, remember that hashtags play a very important, powerful role on Twitter. Hashtags have the power to set the tone of your tweets, convey a strong brand image and connect you with a much wider audience. They also:

  • Increase your brand visibility
  • Amplify your message
  • Connect with your audience across other social platforms
  • Enable you to launch integrated marketing campaigns across all of your platforms
  • Make your content easier to find

That being said, don’t overdo it with the hashtags. Stick to two hashtags for best results and make sure you choose the right hashtag for your tweet (ritetag and tagsforlikes are useful tools giving you information about the latest trending hashtags).

As you can see, there are countless ways to create outstanding tweets that trigger the right response in your audience.
